Period of hire

The standard hire period is four days, this means that you would be able to receive the outfit before a weekend and return it after the weekend. If the outfit is not returned on the last day of your hire period, we shall be entitled to charge an additional daily rate equal to 20% of the quoted hire fee.

Cleaning

We will clean the outfit after your use, so you do not need to get it cleaned before returning it to us. However, any permanently soiling or staining which cannot be removed by normal washing or dry cleaning will be treated as damage.

Damage you cause

You will be responsible for any damage caused to the outfit during the period of hire, up to the amount of your deposit. If you receive the outfit and it is damaged on arrival, please let us know immediately and we will not charge you.

Prices

Hire price and payment

The price for the hire of the outfit is set out on our website. Payment of the hire price and the deposit (see below) must be received prior to collection by or delivery to you of the garment. At the moment we do not accept credit cards, so please bring cash or a cheque with a cheque guarantee card. If a garment is popular, we may ask for payment when you reserve an item in advance.

Cleaning included

The quoted price includes the cost of having the outfit washed or dry cleaned after its hire.

Delivery

The quoted price does not include postage as we envisage that many of our customers will be local and will want to try on the outfit and will not need delivery. As a result, we have not quoted a price that is inclusive of delivery. In addition, some of our items are not suited to postage as they may crease significantly.

However, many of our outfits can be posted and if you would like us to do so, please contact us and we can confirm the postage costs.

Your deposit

Amount of deposit

As well as the hire fee, we will ask you for a returnable deposit to cover damage or non-return of the outfit. The amount of the deposit may depend on the value and condition of the outfit and the number of items hired. We will discuss an appropriate deposit with you when you confirm your booking. We usually take the deposit by cheque which is not cashed unless the outfit is not returned or is returned damaged. The deposit must be paid at the same time as payment of the hire fee, prior to collection or delivery of the outfit. Upon return of the undamaged outfit, the deposit cheque is destroyed.

What we can deduct from your deposit

We will only be entitled to take from your deposit an amount equal to the cost of repairing the damaged item or its residual value if less. We will never ask for more than your deposit.

Notification

If we receive the outfit back damaged and you have not notified us, we will contact you promptly to notify you of the damage and our proposal in relation to the retention and/or return of your deposit.
